Obituary

Services will be Thursday, May 7th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with celebrant, Fr. Frank Chacon for Albert T. Hernandez who passed away May 4, 2009 after a long battle with cancer at the age of 60. He was born December 24, 1948, to Salvador and Estella Hernandez. He attended Winslow Public Schools, graduating in 1967. He served with the U.S. Army from 1968, serving with his beloved First Infantry Division in Vietnam in 1969, where he received a purple heart and the Bronze Star with four Oak Leaf Clusters for service above and beyond to call of duty. He worked for the AT&SF Railroad from 1973 to 1983 as a Train Order Operator. He also worked for Harvey House Inc., at the Grand Canyon as a tour guide, until his disability. Albert enjoyed being in the great outdoors hunting and fishing and just being with his family and friends. He is survived by his daughter Amy from Florida, Keith from Winslow, Michael Lopez form Winslow, Christian from Montana, his brothers Carlos (Theresa) from Pico Rivera, CA, Sal (Margaret), Mark from Winslow. His sisters Grace Miranda from Pico Rivera, CA, Alice Luas (Charles) from Whittier, CA, Mary Bennett, from Las Vegas, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents Salvador and Estella, his brothers John and Joseph and nephew Jonathon. Family request memorial donations be sent Northland Hospice, P.O. 997, Flagstaff, Arizona 86002.
