Alice was born in Star, South Carolina to Wilson and Helen Stuart. She married Gerald Lawton who was from Iva South Carolina. Alice worked at Motor Vehicle Department and as a substitute teacher and cashier.  However for the most part was a homemaker and devoted mother. She also worked closely with her husband a pastor on the Navajo reservation.

Alice is survived by her children, 3 sons and 1 daughter, 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren.

Alice was known by thousands and loved by millions. She will be greatly missed.

Services will be at East Valley Baptist Church, Saturday September 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow next to her husband at Citizens' Cemetery, Veterans' Section, Flagstaff, Arizona.
