Anita "Sugar" Hadden, 85, passed peacefully April 4, 2011 at her home in Flagstaff, Arizona.

A Memorial Service will be held April 15, 2011 at 4:00 pm at the Calvary Bible Church, 6555 Townsend Winona Rd., Flagstaff, Arizona.

After celebrating her 85th birthday with family and friends last month, Anita succumbed to a mercifully brief fight with cancer.

She was born March 1, 1926 in Mineola, New York to Frederick and Louise Hildebrand and lived in Garden City, New York until her marriage in 1948 to Robert B. Hadden, Sr.

Anita was very much a hummingbird, ever active, adorable, and, yes, a little "flighty".
She was a consummate golfer, playing on the amateur circuit with the Delaware County Golf Association in Dublin, Ohio and still beating her eldest son Bob at the Continental Country Club in Flagstaff, Arizona last spring.

She lived in Columbus, Ohio, for forty years with her late husband, Robert B. Hadden Sr., before moving to Flagstaff, Arizona in 2002 to be near her cherished granddaughter.

Anita continued working until very recently, working at Hancock Fabrics and doing product demonstrations at local stores. She was an active member of the Calvary Bible Church and also volunteered with the Native American Bible College. She was also a talented seamstress and healthy foods and holistic living advocate.

Mrs. Hadden is survived by her brother, Charles Martin Hildebrand, and sons Robert and John and their spouses, and her one granddaughter.
