Obituary

Ann L Huber (Stagg) of Flagstaff, AZ passed away on May 14th, 2024 after struggling with a debilitating memory illness. Ann was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on November 10, 1939 and was lovingly raised by her adoptive parents Millard and Alice Stagg. As a child, Ann enjoyed being a Girl Scout and sewing. Later, at Hutchinson High School, she played clarinet in the marching band and graduated in 1957. Ann met and wed Darrell Huber in 1958 and they immediately moved to off-base housing at Fort Sill, Oklahoma when Darrell was drafted into the Army. Upon leaving the service, they moved to Wichita, Kansas and started a family. Ann took care of the home and family as they welcomed three children, Alan on February 21st, 1961, Steven on April 23rd, 1963, and Julie on January 29th, 1966. Julie was born with special needs and Ann, along with Darrell, devoted their lives as caregivers for Julie. Ann decided to attend college classes to attain a special needs teaching degree. When Darrell retired in 1997, they decided to move to Flagstaff. Ann also moved her mother, Alice, and Julie to Flagstaff to continue caring for them both. Ann and Alice spent years sewing, painting, and making crafts until Alice passed at 100 years of age in 2010. Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband Darrell on November 21st, 2022 after 64 years of marriage. Ann is survived by her children Alan (and his wife Kim), Steven, and Julie; her grandchildren Cody and Ashlee, and great-granddaughter Avery.
