Ann Yee, (aka Kim Som Wong Yee), age 98, of Flagstaff, AZ passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on February 10, 2019.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband of 74 years William (Bill). Her memory will continue to be cherished by her five children Stephen (Sueiha), Donald, Ronald (Karen), Wanda (Chuck) Kaminski and Edwin (Karen), seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brothers Stephen Wong and Norman Wong.

Ann was born on January 15, 1921 in Taisan, Guangzhou China. Ann married Bill on May 23, 1941 but were stranded in China due to the outbreak of World War II. During that time their son Stephen was born.  After the war, due to immigration difficulties, Ann was not able to join Bill in Flagstaff until 1951. Stephen was allowed to immigrate in 1953 and the family was finally reunited. The family grew with the birth of twin sons Donald and Ronald, daughter Wanda, and son Edwin.

While raising her children, Ann helped with the family business at the Grand Canyon Café until 1980. Ann and Bill owned and managed apartments into their retirement years. She very much enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was quite the homemaker. She loved to cook for everyone, make Chinese pastries, sew, knit, grow Chinese vegetables and flowers in her garden and watch NBA basketball, especially the Phoenix Suns.

Ann will be greatly missed by her many friends and loved ones. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 18, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. - noon and funeral services will begin at noon at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66, Flagstaff, AZ. Interment will follow at Citizens Cemetery, 1300 S. San Francisco Street, Flagstaff, AZ.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ann may be made to the Hospice Compassus (1000 N Humphreys St., Suite 220, Flagstaff, AZ 86001) and/or the Yee Fung Toy Family Association (3040 N 16 St., Phoenix, AZ 85016).
