Obituary

Anna Marie (Duerksen) Divine, Flagstaff, Ariz., died December 8, 2007. Ann was born in McPherson, Kansas, August 24th, 1920.
She is survived by daughters Jayann Fordon of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Jill Divine of
Flagstaff, Arizona; son and daughter-in-law, John and Debbie Divine of Salina, Kansas; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is also
survived by her brother, Henry Duerksen, and sister-in-law, Patty Hildebrand,and was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

She married Jay Y. Divine on April 24th, 1938, and spent 65 years as his wife and better-half; traveling, loving, working, laughing, bickering and raising their family. Jay precedes her in death.

While she was employed by both Cessna, in Hutchinson, Kansas, and
Dillon's Food Store in several Kansas locations, her real career was caring for her family and those around her. She was a wonderful mother,grandma, card player, dancer, golfer, bowler and cook. She loved to garden,knit, and even went through a brief period in the seventies of excelling at macrame wall hangings. She volunteered often and was active in her
church and social circle. Her motto was "look on the bright side" and she was a shining example of doing just that.

She spent the last four years at The Peaks in the memory unit where
she was cared for and loved.

A memorial will be held at The Peaks, 3150 N Winding Brook Road, Flagstaff, Arizona, Thursday, December 13th at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials be given to the Alzheimer Association or Hospice.

Her constant love and loyalty for her family and friends will be greatly missed.
