Anna Meta (Weller) Pierson-Green, age 85 was born in Ft Smith, Arkansas on December 22, 1919, departed this life on Thursday, June 16, 2005 in Flagstaff, Arizona, and will be laid to rest in her home town of Harrah, Oklahoma.



Anna, the daughter of Meta Henrietta (Kahrs) and Charles Henry Weller, Sr who preceded her in death, is survived by her four children from her marriage to John Howard Pierson, Sr of Hemet, CA; John Howard Pierson, Jr (Veronica) of Desert Hot Springs, CA, James Henry Pierson (Bever Lee) of Wichita, KS, Nancy Ann Pierson Scoble (Bill) of Las Vegas, NV, and William Jay Pierson (Sandra) of Flagstaff, AZ, as well as fourteen grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Anna is also survived by her second husband Hugh Green of Gresham, OR. Surviving nieces, all of Harrah, OK, include, Jeanne Ann (Weller) Fruh, Juanita (Weller) Maxey (Bob), and Judi Kay (Weller) Ellerbee (Arney). Anna was also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Henry Weller, Jr and sister-in-law Floy Ann (Russell) Weller, as well as her sister, Geraldine Kahrs (Weller) Powell and brother-in-law (John).



In recent years, Anna enjoyed living in San Juan Capistrano, CA, Gresham, OR, and Wichita, KS prior to her move to Flagstaff, AZ. While living in California, she became active in the Soroptimist International Organization and served a term as president of the San Clemente chapter. She was an accomplished artist, loved music, often attended the NAU symphony, enjoyed reading, sewing, tending to her many flowers, and especially enjoyed visiting and sharing time with her many friends and neighbors. While living in Flagstaff, she was as a member of Women's Circle and the Stephen Ministry of the Flagstaff Federated Community Church.



Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at the Harrah United Methodist Church in Harrah, OK, with internment to follow at the Harrah Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service, Harrah, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations may be made in memory of Anna Meta (Weller) Pierson~Green to the Harrah United Methodist Church, 2224 North Harrison, Harrah, OK, 73045.
