The Rev. Dr. Anne Schaal Sutherland of Gillett and Oconto Falls, WI died Oct 9, 2023, of cancer, at the age of 90. She attended Cornell University, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, earned a Master of Divinity and a Ph.D., and served 6 years as an ordained United Methodist Elder before taking disability leave. She was honored to be one of the first two United Methodist clergywomen to serve at the same time under the first woman Bishop and a woman District Superintendent. She is survived by her two daughters, two grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. The family held a private celebration of life and may be contacted at PO Box 37, Oconto Falls, WI 54154.
