Obituary

Ms. Annie Pernell Calahan was born in Quitman, La. on Jan. 18, 1945 to Helen T. and John Wesley Calahan. She grew up, graduated high school and lived there until 1969 at which time she moved to Williams, Ariz., where she has resided since. Annie lived and worked in Williams, the place she considered home and made numerous friends along the way.
Annie had been unwell for a number of years, and finally on Friday, Aug. 20, 2010 at 3 a.m. she succumbed to the effects of her illness. Annie is preceded in death by her father John Wesley, a brother John Willie and a sister Caroline. Annie is survived by her mother Helen, her son Jerome, a brother William, a sister-in-law Anacorita, two nieces, a nephew, a host of cousins and by numerous friends that she considered family as well. Annie will be deeply missed by all.
The family wishes to thank everyone for the tremendous outpouring of love and support.
A viewing will be held 4-6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010 at Norvel Owens Mortuary in Flagstaff. A service begins at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010 at First Baptist Church, 629 W. Grant Ave. Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Williams Senior Center, 850 W. Grant Ave. Friends can bring food at that time or prior to the service.
