Arthur "Art" Kenneth Hamilton, 39, a longtime resident of Flagstaff, peacefully made it home to heaven on Saturday, April 25, 2009 after a valiant fight with esophageal cancer. He was born in McNary, Arizona on February 1, 1970 to Voncille Hamilton and Peter Hamilton.

Art was a spiritual man who touched the lives of many people with his beautiful smile and generosity. With the gift of gab all whom he met were friends. He maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. His passions were camping in Campee, playing his guitars, creating music, gardening, and being one with nature. He loved hiking, fishing, river rafting, riding his quad, target practice, watching the stars, traveling, and exploring new adventures. He received an EMT license, but was most proud of starting his own business, Hamilton Maintenance, Inc.

Art was preceded in death by his first wife, Debra Hamilton; and father Peter Hamilton.

Art will be lovingly remembered by second wife, Esther Hamilton, of Flagstaff step-daughter Renee Quinn of Flagstaff, mother Voncille Fischer and step-father Jerry Fischer, of Flagsatff, sister Deborah Purner and brother-in-law Tom Purner of Flagstaff, AZ, and beloved cat Leo. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.

Friends and family are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, April 30, 2009 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm; Memorial service following at 3:00 pm at Norvel Owens Mortuary. Graveside burial to be held at Citizens Cemetery in Flagstaff on Friday, May 1, for the family.
