It is with immense sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Benita Jiron. Benita passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 96 surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday November 1st, 2023.

Benita was born in San Juan New Mexico in 1927 and moved to Flagstaff Arizona with her family in 1951 where she remained for the entirety of her life.

Although it is well known that Benita loved the thrill of playing bingo, (and her Moolah slots at Cliff Castle Casino), Benita's greatest treasure was her family.

Benita was blessed that all of her children cared for her since the passing of her husband in 2007.

Benita is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Juan Jiron Sr., daughter Cecilia Lucero, and son, Albert Jiron, as well as all of her siblings (5 sisters and 3 brothers).

Benita is survived by her 10 loving children, Leroy (Dorothy) Jiron of Flagstaff; Lasso Jiron of Camp Verde; Dolores (Rudy) Aleman of Phoenix; Jerry Jiron of Phoenix; Julia (Antonio) Barrios of Phoenix; Isabel (Gary) Gresham of Flagstaff; Grace Jiron of Flagstaff; Selina (Alex) Mendibles of Phoenix; Gloria Argetsinger of Flagstaff; and Juan (Joann) Jiron Jr. of Flagstaff.

Also remaining to cherish Benita's memory are 20 Grandchildren, 46 Great Grandchildren, 15 Great-Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great-Great Grandchild, representing a legacy of six generations.

Benita will always be remembered for her kindness and loving heart to all who crossed her path.

A memorial service will be held at Norvel Owens Mortuary (914 E. Route 66 Flagstaff, Arizona 86001) on Friday, November 10th at 2pm.
