Beverly Jean Lonergan, 78, passed away August 25, 2006 in Flagstaff, AZ. Beverly was born in Chicago, IL. She grew up primarily in Salina, KS and attended Sacred Heart High School and Marymount College. She spent most of her life in Kansas and Missouri and most recently living in Palm Desert, CA.
Throughout her life she worked primarily in clothing retail. Working for Henry's of Wichita, manager at The Paris of Salina and St. Joseph, MO and department manager for Dillard's in Wichita. She also owned a second-hand furniture store in St. Joseph and worked as a cook for O'Malley's American Bowman Restaurant in Weston, MO.
Beverly enjoyed her children and was a great mother and was voted booster parent of the year in 1969. She was renowned for her hospitality, and her home-cooked meals that were enjoyed by a great number for friends and acquaintances. Beverly enjoyed playing cards, making Halloween costumes and collecting antiques. She was a life long member of the Catholic Church.
Family and friends will miss her story-telling and her sense of humor.
Beverly is survived by sons Jerry (Nancy) of Kansas City, MO, Mark (Vickie) of Shawnee, KS, John (Linda) of Dallas, TX, Tom (Becky) of St. Joseph, MO and daughter Kathy (Gene) Warner of Flagstaff, Arizona. She is also survived by her sister, Mickie Breault, of Salina, KS, and 10 grandchildren.
Beverly is preceded in death by her husband Bernard Lonergan.
