Obituary

Billie Jo Carver, 81, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, died peacefully in her sleep in her Flagstaff home Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007.

Mrs. Carver was born in San Angelo, Texas, on July 11, 1926, to Minnie and George Murphey. After high school, she attended business school and worked in Washington, D.C. for a year. She returned to Texas, where she met and married Bill Carver. They were married for 33 years until his death in 1978. They resided with their three sons in Flagstaff, Holbrook and Winslow. They owned and operated Gabrielle's Pancake House on Route 66 in Winslow.

Mrs. Carver moved back to Flagstaff in 1998, where she enjoyed being near family. She loved to camp, fish and travel and enjoyed trips to Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Tahiti.

Mrs. Carver is survived by her sons Dale (Carol) Carver, Ray (Bernice) Carver, and Neal (Laura) Carver; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and both sisters.
