Billie Hammond, born March 11, 1926 in Gebo, Wyoming, went home to be with the Lord on April 25, 2012 in Flagstaff, Arizona. She was met there by her parents, Ansel and Iris Mansikka, and by her son, Dean Hammond. She lived in Thermopolis, Wyoming for 49 years and Cheyenne,Wyoming for 26 years before moving to Flagstaff. Billie and her husband of 67 years were active in their church, enjoyed camping, loved to travel, and visited all 50 states.

She is survived by her husband Vern Hammond, her sister Ida Jean Shaffer, her brother-in-law Lester Shaffer, all of Flagstaff; by her daughter Vernita Lewis (Kelly), two grandchildren Ryan (Ling) and Brittney, her great-granddaughter Kylah, all of Denver, Colorado; and by many nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held on April 29th at 2:00 P.M. at Greenlaw Baptist Church, 3400 E. Lockett Rd., Flagstaff, AZ 86004. A reception will immediately follow the service.
