Brenda Jones Canepa (nee Brenda Lee Jones) passed away peacefully on February 20, 2019. She was a University of Virginia graduate, a registered nurse, and had a Master Degree from Queens College.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Canepa; daughters, Leanore Heagy, Nanette Zupon, and Melissa Murphy. She left nine grandchildren and an unofficially adopted daughter, Joelle Sellner. She also has two surviving sisters, Carolyn DuVal and Nancy Midgett.
