Carin Ruth Ruffenach (Callender), of Flagstaff, Arizona, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2018, after a courageous fight with breast cancer. She was 68 years old.

Carin was born in Minneapolis to Naomi and Wayne Callender. She was raised in Northeast Minneapolis and was a 1968 graduate of Edison High School, and she enjoyed a lifelong career in medical and legal transcription.

Carin's greatest joy was her children and family. Even the simplest moments were made perfect by the presence of those she loved. Family dinners, evening walks, game nights, and occasional trips to the casino were among her favorite activities. She had an adventurous spirit and was always looking forward to the next trip with her kids, whether to an out-of-the-way place within Arizona or to an international destination.

Carin is survived by her six children, Britni Ruffenach (Agustin Robledo), Peter (Abby) Ruffenach, Jessie Ruffenach (Juan Ojeda), Dana Ruffenach (Gary Slim), Blake (Katherine) Ruffenach, and Marshall Ruffenach; her sister Lynne (Tom) Osborne, brothers Paul (Pam) Callender and Mark (Teresa) Callender; and her three grandchildren.

She will be remembered by family and friends for her kindness, wise and patient counsel, generosity, and strength.  Family, friends, and others whose lives Carin touched are welcome to join a celebration of life for her at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 14, at Flagstaff Christian Fellowship, 123 South Beaver Street, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church, Flagstaff Christian Fellowship.
