Obituary

Carlotta Montoya Lucero was born on November 4, 1942 and passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family on July 26, 2024 in Flagstaff, AZ.

She was a very devoted and active member of the Catholic community. She ran (with her family) a landmark restaurant in the community for 58 years El Charro Café. She was a loving mother, housewife, and lead singer for Mariachi Continental.

Carlotta is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Gilbert Montoya, her parents Merced and Francisca Rodriguez, her siblings Trini, Lupe, Johnny, Eula, Toni, and Carmen and grandsons Peedo and Andrew.

She is survived by her husband of 4 years Nicolas Lucero, sister Frances and her twin sister Martha. She was blessed with six children, Michelle (Manuel), Jennie (Mike), Chris (Marlo), Petra (Frank), Gilbert (Rachael), Rebecca (Joe), 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed and never forgotten, but we know she is in the arms of our Lord.

Visitation with Rosary will be on Sunday August 4th from 5:00 -7:00 pm at San Francisco De Asis. Monday August 5th Rosary at 10:00 AM and Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at San Francisco De Asis. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
