Obituary

Carmen Rosas Lybarger was born on June 25, 1924 in Proctor, Colorado. She was the oldest daughter of Pete and Jessie Rosas. She played an integral role in raising her siblings and was known as their "second mom." Carmen left home at 18 and earned her living as a heavy equipment operator during WWII. She later married King Lybarger, a WWII Veteran, who has preceded her in death. Carmen was a mother to three children: Kurt, Karen Madden (James) and John, who has also preceded her in death. She was a grandmother to Danielle Madden-Hernandez (Marcos) and Brady Madden. She joins her parents, and siblings Art, Pete, Manuel, Ernestine, George and Priscilla (Johnnie Kippes), as well as brothers-in-law Bob Winslow and Dick Peetz. She is survived by siblings Sarah, Vicki (Bob Winslow), Bernie Bushel (Ed), Teresa (Dick Peetz), Henry (Roberta), Mike (Vinney), Richard and Hope (Don). Her presence at daily mass spanned 35+ years, and her devotion to her family kept her fighting until she was 93 years young. She lived De Colores!

Services will be Monday, January 15th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Rosary at 10am with Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30.
