It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of longtime Flagstaff resident Carrie Bernice Neal. She died Friday, December 5, 2008 at the age of 74.
Carrie was born March 6, 1934 in McNary, Arizona to Frank and Bernice Natt. She was the second of four children.
Upon moving to Flagstaff, Carrie attended Dunbar Elementary under the instruction of the late Wilson Riles, Sr. She later attended other Flagstaff City Schools.
Carrie was the loving mother of seven children and the endearing grandmother of eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
She was a longtime member of Springhill Missionary Baptist Church.
Carrie is survived by her mother, Bernice Flanagan, an aunt, Myrtle Porter, a brother Frank Natt, Jr. (Betty), two sisters, Florence Lawrence (Charles), Janet Martin (Shelby) a step-sister Janice Shavers, two sons Mickey Neal and Danny Neal (Janie) five daughters Diane Mitcham (Jerry) Brenda Davis (Leo), Marsha Neal, Kimberly Neal and Tasha Neal. An Ex-Husband, Eddie Neal, a cousin, Gladys Washington (Ivory). Carrie will also be remembered by numerous other cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Carrie Douglas, her step-father Howard Flanagan and her father Frank Natt, Sr.
A viewing will be held Thursday, December 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66
Services will be held Friday, December 12th at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 219 S. Elden.
