Cecil Michael Stephens, 64, of Flagstaff passed away suddenly at home on February 7, 2007 with the love of his life Kelly Hageman by his side. He spent the last decade loving his Kelly and making their home their own paradise away from the world. Mike enjoyed living an old fashioned life in a modern world. He grew his own vegetables, made jelly, raised his farm animals and sold chicken eggs for pocket money. He loved working with his hands. He built useful things, fixed broken objects, and was restoring his old car. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved nature and wildlife. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and riding his quads for miles and miles. Mike loved to learn and discover the past. He believed that history always repeats itself. He spent many hours of his life tracking his genealogical record. He loved old western movies and the History Channel. Nothing annoyed him worse than incorrect facts in a book or movie. Mike loved his family. He was proud of the children he raised. He was always there to guide, support and pushed his son, daughter and his stepchildren to be the best people they could be. He loved to teach them what he knew. Mike was a wonderful grandpa. He loved to cuddle the babies and watch them learn and grow. He loved taking the grandkids on four-wheeler rides, helping them gather the chicken eggs. He was very proud of every little thing they accomplished.

Mike was a Marine, a retired Highway Patrolman, a retired Teamster- and had worked for Yellow Freight for many years.

Mike is survived by his mother Ceble Stephens, loving companion Kelly Hageman, son, David Stephens (Christa), daughter, Michelle Ryan (Mike), step-children, Timothy Summer (Amber), Felicity Summer, Kjirsten Wright (Rob), Patrick Hageman, grandchildren, Michaela, Brigham, Mitchell, Alix, Alicia, Trevor, Alysa, Rachel, Caleb, and Ethan.

Memorial Services will be held Monday February 12th at 2:00 pm at Norvel Owens Mortuary
