Charles A. Hoffman, 75, passed away July 1, 2005 in Flagstaff, AZ. He is survived by his wife, Cindy; sons Steven, Gary and Dana and daughter Tami West. He leaves 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Charles served in the US Navy in Korea and later in the Navy Reserves. He received his doctorate in Anthropology from the University of Arizona in 1967 and was a professor at NAU until his retirement in 1995. His areas of scholarly interest, research and writing were eastern Arizona and the Bahamas. Charles was widely recognized as an expert on the landfall of Christopher Columbus. Charles loved Flagstaff and was very active in the community, serving on the many committees including President of the Main Street Foundation. Visitation will be Thursday, July 7, 6:00-8:00 pm at Norvel Owens Mortuary. Funeral Services will be Friday July 8th at 2pm at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany.
