Obituary

Charles Thomas "Charlie" Way, born August 23, 1949 passed away Friday March 24th peacefully at his home.

In 1975, he joined the music faculty at Northern Arizona University where he faithfully served as Professor of Trumpet for 28 years. During this time he was Principal Trumpet with both the Flagstaff Symphony and the Summer Festival Orchestra.

Charlie was preceded in death by his loving wife of 28 years Elaine. He is survived by his sister Barbara Jane Way Mohr, his son Charles Robert Way, his daughter Elizabeth Jane Waltz, three grandsons Justus and Jace Waltz and Miles Way. He is also survived by his devoted friend and fellow musician Lowell Taylor.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church 3600 N 4th street, Flagstaff AZ. A reception to celebrate Charlie's life will follow at 1:00 p.m at Tranzend Studio Fitness Center 417 W. Santa Fe Ave, Flagstaff AZ (the old Daily Sun bldg).
