Clyde W. Joe was born on September 5, 1942, in Williams, Az to Clyde Joe and Angeline Chapman Joe. Clyde was the ninth of nine siblings and the baby of the family!
He attended schools in Flagstaff, Az and was an outstanding athlete. He played baseball, football, and basketball for Flagstaff High School. He also enjoyed umpiring, refereeing, playing summer league softball, and coaching the girls' basketball team at Flagstaff Jr. High School.
Clyde worked and retired from the Flagstaff Public Schools as one of the head custodians, all while holding his possession as Deacon and then later as Elder Joe of Riverside Church of God in Christ. He was known by everyone and was caring and thoughtful to anyone he met. Clyde has three very close friends that he has known since childhood, and they have always stayed in touch with each other over the years they are Mr. Mike Cromer, Mr. Tom Palmer, and Mr. Homer Townsend.
Clyde was the loving Father of three children, the grandfather of eight, the great-grandfather of five granddaughters, and the great-great grandfather of one "Grandboy." Clyde married Virginia Johns on September 5, 1992, they have been married for a total of 31 years.
On January 27, 2024, Clyde was called to his eternal home of rest where there's no more pain, or sickness, only peace and serenity. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sons Arnold and Clyde III, his sisters; Helen, LelaMae, Ethel, Melba Lee, Bessie, Beatrice, and Brothers; Elton and Robert Joe, Sr (Rosie); Sister-in-law Juliet.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife of 31 years Virginia Joe, his daughter LaSandra Joe, his son Ceaser Polk Jr, his grandchildren Tiffanie, Shamar, Christopher, Tyrin, Letecia, Keontae, Isaiah and Noah, great-granddaughters; Ay'Dejzia, Zah'Quariiyah, Q'Kyxia, Zah'Naxia, and Tahi'Ajzia and great-great grandson; Xxavion "Grandboy." Lifelong friends; Mike Cromer (Sarah), Tom Palmer (Gretna), and Homer Townsend (Arlisa).Sister-in-law; Janie Neal (Danny), Brothers-in-Law; Larry Johns (Michelle), Randy Pryer, Glen Pryer, and George Pryer (Carmen), Dennis Johns. He will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
A celebration of his life will be Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 12 Noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 625 E. Cherry Ave., Flagstaff, Arizona 86001
