Margaret Corrine Hernandez, 74, of Flagstaff died on November 10th, 2016. Known as Corrine by her friends and family, she was born on October 8th, 1942, in Grants, New Mexico, and moved to Arizona at the age of 10. In Flagstaff, Corrine assisted her mother in housekeeping for Ramada Inn. She also worked for Flagstaff Unified School District as a one-on-one aide for approximately 14 years. Following her time with FUSD, she continued her passion for working with children and worked in various day cares around Flagstaff until her retirement.

Corrine loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid sports fan and was known for cheering on the Broncos, Diamondbacks and any teams her children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews were part of. She loved gatherings with family and friends, trips to the casino, a good margarita, and listening to Mexican music she could dance to. In her later years, she enjoyed focusing on her grandchildren and watching them grow.

Corrine is survived by her son, Randy (Lara) Hernandez; grandchildren, Zachary and Cassie Hernandez; father, Preciliano Chavez; brother, Isidro (Tom) Chavez; sisters, Melba (Ralph) Reyes, Gloria Chavez, and many nieces and nephews, godchildren and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Valerie Hernandez; mother, Chrysanta Chavez; brothers, Preciliano Jr. and Joseph; sisters, Melbita, Josephine, Pat Hernandez, Theresa Clerry and brother-in-law, Sam Clerry. Also preceding her in death are her ex-husband, Manuel Hernandez; and mother-in-law, Rosa Garcia.

Holy Rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 224 S. Kendrick Street, Flagstaff, AZ, on Friday, November 18th, 2016, at 10:00 am. Funeral mass will be celebrated immediately following at 11:00 am.
