In Loving Memory of Dana Lynn Schwartz

Dana Schwartz, born July 1st,1969, beloved mother, daughter, sister, wife, aunt, friend and coach, passed away unexpectedly the morning of December 7th, 2012. Dana was a blessing to this earth and brought joy and laughter to the numerous lives she embraced.

Dana was raised with an abundant amount of love in the small town of Hayward, Wisconsin. Surrounded by family, Dana grew into a thriving young woman. Till death, Dana looked upon Hayward with the fondest of emotions and memories.

At the age of fifteen, she moved to Flagstaff, Arizona with her family and attended Flagstaff High School. With a competitive and hardworking attitude Dana shared her athleticism with the community and her intellect and wit with her teachers and classmates. She furthered her education at Youngstown State and NAU, majoring in Spanish and English as a Second Language; she went on to get a master's degree in Educational Leadership. She became a principal and an Administrator of Curriculum and Accountability of Pendergast Elementary School District. As a teacher and administrator, Dana passionately loved her students and staff, for she tackled every obstacle set before her with a keen mind, noteworthy intelligence, and infectious sense of humor.

Dana lives on through her children, and devoted family. She lived a joyful life as the sister of Tari Popham (Jim Popham) and Robby Somerville (Amy Somerville) and the daughter of Christine and Robert Somerville. Dana married Peter S. Schwartz in 1992; they celebrated and enhanced their marriage with the births of two children. Her son, Peter, born January 25th 1993, and her daughter Hailey, born May 7th 1994, were Dana's pride and joy-she loved them fiercely. Dana's survivors continue to honor her as they live their lives with the memory of a remarkable woman forever in their hearts. A fund benefitting the education of Dana's children has been established at Coconino Federal Credit Union, Account #39910 for those wishing to honor
Dana's legacy.

A celebration of Dana Lynn Schwartz's life will be December 15th, at Shepherd of the Hills Church at 11:00 am, followed by a reception at the Elk's Lodge at 12:00 pm.
