Daniel, 92, of Flagstaff, AZ, passed away January 2, 2025.

He passed away peacefully at home with his family beside him due to complications from pneumonia.

Daniel (Dan) was born April 21, 1932 in Shoemakersville, PA to Decosta and Elizabeth Shearer. He was the youngest of 6 children.

He met Joan Kneller and they were married November 14, 1955 and lived in Pottstown and Reading, Pennsylvania. Daniel was a graduate of Ursinus College in Norristown, PA with a BS in English. Daniel had 3 children: Susan, James (deceased), and Daniel Jr.

Daniel and his wife, Joan, moved to Flagstaff in 1984.

Daniel was a Korean War Air Force veteran and a loving and caring husband for 69 years. He loved to watch hockey games and enjoyed retirement up to his passing. Amongst the many jobs in Flagstaff, he worked for the Flagstaff Unified School District at Flagstaff High School and then as a Greeter at Walmart. He also worked as an insurance salesman for Prudential and as an independent agent earlier in his life.

In addition to his wife Joan, he is survived by 2 of his 3 children Susan and Daniel Jr., 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A private celebration of his life was requested by his wife and family.
