It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of David Keeley, born on June 15, 1974, in Aurora, Illinois. David left this world on September 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, creativity, and quiet strength that will be cherished by all who knew him.

David was the beloved son of Donald and Jerilyn (Bergeron) Keeley. He was preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, William and Theresa (Maffeo) Keeley, and John and Evelyn (Sullivan) Bergeron. He is survived by his loving siblings: Julie (Keeley) Oleksy (Brian Clever), Jessica (Matthew) Arch, and Janelle Keeley (Mike Drwal). David was a proud uncle to his nieces and nephews: Brennen Vogt (Carson Loftus), Payton Vogt, Katherine Arch, Joseph Arch, and William Arch. His close friend, Jay Malik, was a steadfast companion in his life's journey.

A graduate of Oswego High School's Class of 1993, David carried his youthful spirit into adulthood, where his love for building and creating flourished. His early fascination with Legos and erector sets evolved into a lifelong passion for crafting and innovation. Whether it was constructing a custom raised bed with storage or crafting bag boards from beer bottle caps, David's creativity knew no bounds. He even built a wood-burning heater from an old propane tank for his garage—a testament to his inventive mind.

David's professional journey included roles as a Spotter, Forklift Driver, and later, a Truck Driver, where he found fulfillment navigating the open road. His quiet demeanor belied a mind that was always turning, always creating, and he shared this imaginative spirit with those around him.

David was a devoted fan of the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Blackhawks, often engaging in discussions about football statistics and predicting Super Bowl outcomes with impressive accuracy. His love for sports was matched by his love for life.

Known for his quiet presence, David had a knack for making his loved ones laugh and think with his perfectly timed comments. He was a gentle observer in the lively company of his three sisters, waiting for just the right moment to share his thoughtful insights or humor. His subtle ability to connect with others left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.

In 2024, seeking warmth and adventure, David and his dear friend Jay moved to Arizona. Though their time there was brief, and work often kept David traveling, he cherished the experiences and the state's natural beauty.

David Keeley's life was a tapestry of quiet brilliance and profound kindness. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved him.
