Obituary

David Jay Lawson (Sr.) passed away on October 5, 2016 surrounded by his children. Dave was born October 30, 1938 in Douglas Arizona. Growing up in Douglas, Dave learned his skills as: Boiler Maker, Heavy Equipment Operator and many other skills and trades along the way. He also joined the Army Reserves.

In 1960 he married Linda Barrett (Cabarga). During their 18 years of marriage they had 4 children and moved to Flagstaff, Arizona. In 1980 Dave moved to Sheridan, Wyoming. While there, he met and married Doris Brunson in 1983. Dave and Doris returned to Flagstaff and remained married until 2001. Dave enjoyed hunting and being in the outdoors. For those that knew him, he also enjoyed arguing with his family members and earned the nickname of Grumpy Grandpa, and we believe he loved that name most of all!

He is preceded in death by his parents Jay (Jesse) Lawson & Edna Lawson; his sisters Edna Mae Bates and Margie Lee Aderholt.

He is survived by his brother Jesse Lawson; his sisters Bertha (Bill) Thompson, and Alice Lawson; his children: Velvet (John) Perry, David Jr – AKA Buddy- (Trudy) Lawson, Robert-AKA Bobby- Lawson, and Kellie Jean Lawson; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

His children have chosen to honor his last request for NO SERVICES and want to thank all family and friends for condolences and understanding.
