With grateful hearts, we celebrate the life of Dixie Leann Evans Delaney, a beloved wife, mother, nana, sister, and faithful follower of Jesus Christ, who entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 15, 2026, at the age of 73.

Born in Hannah, North Dakota, Dixie was the youngest of nine children. She was raised on the family farm, where she developed the resilience, humility, and servant's heart that would define her life. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Wayne Delaney, in Kansas City, Kansas, in 1971. Soon after, they answered God's call to ministry and began their life together in Houck, Arizona, the first of several communities where they faithfully served the Navajo Nation over the next five decades.

Together, Dixie and Kenneth devoted their lives to sharing the love of Christ on the Arizona Navajo Nation starting in Houck, Kayenta, Shonto, Winslow, and Fort Defiance. She faithfully poured into the lives of children, women, and families through Sunday school, discipleship, mentoring, and prayer. Her unwavering faith, compassionate spirit, and biblical wisdom encouraged generations of people, many of whom went on to serve the Lord in ministry themselves.

While her ministry touched countless lives, Dixie's greatest joy was her family. She loved deeply, prayed faithfully, gave generously, and made everyone who entered her home feel loved. To her children and grandchildren, she was a constant source of strength, encouragement, and unconditional love.

Dixie is survived by her devoted husband just shy of 55 years, Kenneth Wayne Delaney; her daughters and their spouses, Erica Lenihan (Brian), Andrea Teague (Brian), and Nicole Carlen (Nicholas); her beloved grandchildren; three brothers; one sister; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, and generations whose lives were forever changed by her faithful witness.

Though her family grieves her absence, they rejoice knowing she has heard the words she longed for: "Well done, good and faithful servant." Her legacy of faith, love, and unwavering devotion to Christ will continue for generations to come.
