Donald (Don) Lee Skaggs (85) passed away peacefully in Flagstaff, February 14, 2017. Don was born in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, January 20, 1932 and moved to Flagstaff with his family when he was two. Flagstaff was his home for 83 years.

Don graduated from Flagstaff High School where his brother Daniel (DL) Skaggs was a teacher. As a high school student, Don worked as a janitor for Moore Drug in downtown Flagstaff which led to his interest in pharmacy. After attending Arizona State College (NAU) and transferring to the University of Arizona, Don earned a degree from the College of Pharmacy. Upon graduation, Don returned Flagstaff, married his wife, Janice Cooper Skaggs, and began employment with Moore Drug as a pharmacist. Don became a partner in Moore Drug and a new pharmacy on Beaver Street, Prescription Pharmacy. He later became the sole proprietor of Prescription Pharmacy. In the late 70's, Prescription Pharmacy closed, and Don opened the first pharmacy for NAU's Health Center where he worked until retirement.

Don was president of Flagstaff Little League, a member of Kiwanis, and Flagstaff Masonic Lodge #7. Don had two passions in life: his work and his family. His volunteer work in Flagstaff revolved around his three children.

Don was preceded in death by his brother Daniel (DL), sister Doris, and son Dan. Don is survived by his wife Janice, daughter Betty Vinall, son Tom, and two grandchildren (Betty) Granger and Greer Vinall.
