Donna W. Henrichs, 43, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 8th at the Flagstaff Medical Center after a short illness. She is survived by her husband Joel; their children Bailey, Spencer, Aylssa and Haley; Donna's parents Carolyn and Gene Wilson of Boise, ID; her brothers Jim Wilson of Albuquerque, NM; and Craig Wilson and his wife Carrie of Missoula, MT and their families.
Donna always embraced her role as a wife, mother, sister and aunt with a deep sense of commitment and love.
Donna married Joel on St. Patrick's Day last March which brought her the joys of a larger family. She took great pride in Bailey's musical abilities, in
Spencer's natural gift to make friends and become "her little man," and to become a loving step-mother to Alyssa and Haley. Donna loved to cook and share her latest creations with family and friends. She was always "multi-tasking," spreading her energy and passion between her family, work, Marshall School events and civic activities. Despite all of these commitments, she found the
time to be a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan and watch every game she could.
Donna has been a faculty member in the School of Communication at NAU where she has taught in the communication, advertising and public relations programs. In addition to her excellence in the classroom, Donna had a strong
sense of community and service which will always be remembered. She was always willing to serve on a committee, help out a colleague or advise a student;
with a smile on her face and generally with a box of candy in her hands. Years after students graduated from NAU, many maintained a close relationship with Donna to whom she had become a mentor and friend.
Donna's strong sense of service and spirit of compassion were demonstrated in her activities for Trinity Heights United Methodist Church. She was active in "Faithworks", "Walk to Emmaus" and at one time was in charge of children's programs.
During this time of profound loss we are comforted to know that she has been embraced by Jesus Christ and will live eternally with His love and in His care.
Donna's family invites her friends, colleagues and students to attend a memorial service to celebrate her life on Wednesday, December 12th at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church, 3600 North 4th Street.
