Dorothy M. Wheeler, 88 of Williams passed Easter Sunday, April 8, 2007 at Flagstaff Medical Center. She was born in Taylor, Texas April 23, 1918 to Henry and Anna Meyer.
In 1968 she and her husband, moved to Flagstaff and then to Williams where they made their home. Together they were the original founders of the Turquoise Teepee. Dorothy greatly loved her family and many friends and would do anything for them. She enjoyed sewing, her grandchildren, traveling, her cats and dog and watching the Diamondbacks and Phoenix Suns. She loved the Lord, and served him many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra and Roger Jensen, daughter-in-law Lois Wheeler of Sedona, Grandchildren, Lea and Tom Bowdon, of Williams, Joshua and Beth Jensen, of Flagstaff, Lee Wheeler of Sedona and Jim Wheeler of Cottonwood. She is also survived by her 13 great grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Gordon K. Wheeler, son Gordon, grandsons Shawn and Heath Jensen and great grandson Jesse Wheeler.
A visitation will be held from 12 noon to 1:00, Friday April 13, 2007 with a Celebration of her life service at 1:00 at the United Methodist Church, 127 W. Sherman Ave. Williams. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery. Remembering that this it a celebration please wear your bright, causal attire.
