Douglas Phillips, formerly of Mohave Valley, AZ, died on October 9, 2008 at the age of
83 in Flagstaff after losing his battle with Alzheimer's. He was born on December 6, 1924 in Orange, CA to Benjamin Franklin Phillips and Ruth Inez Phillips. Doug grew up in Visalia, CA and Orange County, CA and after graduating from Santa Ana High School served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Europe, was captured during combat and was a
POW in France until U.S. forces recaptured the POW camp.

Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, of 62 years in June of 2008. He is survived by his three children, Ron (Marlene) Phillips of Flagstaff, Carolyn Gladden of Flagstaff and Rebecca (Ron) Phillips-Breuklander of Lake Forest, CA, nine grandchildren, Tyler (Kelly) Phillips of Garden Grove, CA, Bert (Jennifer) Kelly of
Prescott Valley, AZ, Shaun, Amy, and Misty Gladden of Flagstaff, Joel, Neal, Rachael and Lauren Breuklander of Lake Forest, CA, and nine great grandchildren, Jessica, Aaron, Kaitlyn, Wyatt, Cody, Emma, Cole, Macy and Jack.

Doug was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities. He enjoyed vacationing with his wife, children and grandchildren and late hour UNO games on New Years Eve. He worked with his hands as a cabinet maker most of his life until he retired from McDonald - Douglas aircraft in 1981 then moved to the river, Mohave Valley, AZ where he lived with Mom until moving to Flagstaff in July of 2008.

Our Dad and Grandpa will be greatly missed. You will forever live in our hearts and we
look forward to seeing you again in heaven.
