Our beloved mother, grandmother, and grandma-great; Edith L. Clarke went home to be with the lord Saturday December 15th. Edith was born in Burnett, Texas on July 6th 1922 to Emma and Floyd Cureton. She was the eldest of four children. She attended school in Robstown, Texas, and business college in Corpus Christi, Texas. She then married the love of her life, Gwyn H. Clarke. They moved to Flagstaff in 1958 and then to Winslow in 1962. She owned and operated Fabric of America in down town Winslow starting in 1972. She was one of the founding members of the Desert View Baptist Church, when services where conducted in someone's home, before they built the church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Gwyn H. Clarke; her younger brother Thomas Cureton of Slidelle Louisiana; and her great grandson Joshua Marquez Smith. She is survived by two siblings; Robert (Pat) Cureton of Tucson, Arizona, and Everett (Jerry) Cureton of Winslow. Her four children Gary Clarke of Tonto Basin, Gwyn (Connie) Clarke Jr. of Washington, Utah, Pam (Bob) Jones of Bend, Oregon, and Cindy (Dave) Wood of Winslow. She also has fourteen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. She was loved by all that knew her and she will be greatly missed. Funeral Services will be held at The Desert View Baptist Church on Wednesday December 19th at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Desert View Cemetery.
