Edward Francis Ignatius Cashman, 52, resident of Flagstaff, AZ for the past three years died on the afternoon of April 5, 2011. He is survived by his mother, Therese Cashman, as well as his in-laws, Michael and Kathleen Corbett. He was preceded in death by his father, George, and his uncle, Gene. Not long before his death, Ed celebrated his nineteenth wedding anniversary with his wife Patricia. She and his five children – Michael, Colleen, Kathleen, Bridget, and Eion – also remain, as do numerous cousins, friends, other family, and his loyal Irish Wheaton Terrier – Fey.

Ed was born and spent most of his life in Chicago, IL. He worked on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade as a broker for thirty years. In his later years, he was inflicted with advanced Rheumatoid Arthritis. However, despite the disease's rapid progression, he still retained a love of horses and poker and people. Regularly, he would attend poker games several nights a week and often lived vicariously through his youngest, Eion.

Services are being held in both Flagstaff and Chicago. In Flagstaff, a memorial will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Norvel Owens Mortuary on Friday April 8th. Visitation starting at 6 with Service at 7p.m. Afterwards, his remains will be flown to Chicago, whereupon Wednesday (April 13) of next week he will be waked at Cumberland Funeral Chapels (8300 W. Lawerence Norridge). The funeral mass will then be held at Immaculate Conception with the interment at All Saints Cemetery (Des Plaines), followed by a reception at the Hapsburg Inn (River Rd. Mt. Prospect, Des Plaines).

More than anything, he loved his family and friends. To them, there had never been a stronger, kinder and more loved man than Edward Cashman.
