Edward John Hoffman, 89, passed away January 11, 2016 at The Peaks in Flagstaff, AZ. He was born November 24, 1926 to Benjamin and Jean Hoffman in Denver, Colorado. He grew up in South Bend, Indiana where he resided with his family until WWII. He enlisted in the Army and served in the Philippines. When he returned home he went to photography school on the GI bill, where he met his wife of 66 years, Joyce Darlene (Holmberg). They moved to California in 1955 and then to Arizona in 1960, where they have resided since.

Ed worked in photography for over 10 years, then got involved in the movie business. He worked in film, and helped film the cult classic "Plan 9 From Outer Space." He was involved in 16mm film rental until the advent of video. He opened the first video store in Arizona in 1978. Ed loved family, his extended church family, movies, and John Wayne. He will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife; brother James and his family, sister Joan and her family; children Craig (Penny) and Wendy; grandchildren Johanna (Stuart), Jennifer (Jon), Janelle (Devon); and 8 great-grandchildren: Damian, Bailey, Jillian, Jessica, Jemma, Jon, Jacob and Evelyn.

Services will take place at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1601 N. San Francisco Street, Flagstaff, Arizona on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Graveside service with Veterans' Honors will follow in the Veterans' Section of Citizens' Cemetery, 1300 S. San Francisco Street.
