Edwin L. Hogsett, 81, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord in Flagstaff, AZ on January 19, 2014. He was born November 15, 1932 to Guy L. and Dona Maxine Hogsett in Beaver, Oklahoma. Although mentally and physically handicapped, he was treated like a normal son and encouraged to do everything he could at an early age.

In 1948, he moved to Winslow, AZ with his parents and brothers. During the 1950's to 1970's he was a fixture as "Winslow's Paper Boy." He would be up at dawn, go meet the buses to get six different newspapers to sell at the train station, cafe's, businesses, bars and on the street till sundown. He was remembered and loved by all who met him.

He retired when his father retired from the Santa Fe Railroad in 1977. After that he camped and traveled with his parents through the 1990's. In 1998 he moved with his parents to his brother Alvin's house where they were cared for until their deaths.

Eddie liked to swim, roller skate and ride bicycles. His real love was gospel and country western music, Lawrence Welk and Billy Graham. But most of all he loved Jesus and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Winslow for over 50 years.

He was preceded in death by a brother (Jerry) and his parents Guy and Maxine.

He is survived by his brother Alvin (Mary), many nieces and nephews, and friends of Winslow.

Funeral services will be held at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 1505 W. 3rd St., Winslow, AZ on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11 am. Internment at Desert View Cemetery will follow.
