Obituary

Elaine Florence Way, 55, of Flagstaff, passed away Friday evening November 16, 2007 at the Olivia White Hospice House after her courageous fight. She was born March 31, 1952 in Trenton, New Jersey to Robert and Elaine Quigley.

She graduated from Maplewood High School in Farmdale, Ohio in 1970. She received her bachelor's degree in Music History from Youngstown State University class of 1975. In 1977 she moved to Flagstaff, and married Charles Thomas Way on June 11, 1978 in Farmdale, Ohio. Elaine continued her education as she worked on her graduate studies in Music Therapy, Psychology and Music History at University of Kansas, Northern Arizona University and University of Arizona.

Elaine played French Horn in the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra for many years, she taught and was the office manager for the NAU Preparatory School, she served as a member of the Flagstaff Youth Orchestra Board, and assistant Cub master for Cub Scout Pack 100 at Kinsey School. But most of all she loved the opportunity she had to be a homemaker to her family.

Elaine is survived by her husband of nearly 30 years, Charles Thomas Way, son, Charles Robert Way, daughter, Elizabeth Jane Lavender, mother Elaine Quigley , brothers, Robert Quigley and Ken Quigley.

A Memorial service will be held this spring at Johnston Federated United Methodist Church, Farmdale, Ohio, when her daughter Elizabeth returns from military service in Iraq.
