Erwin "Roger" Hansen passed peacefully on April 4, 2026, at his daughter's home in Spanish Fork, Utah. He was born, the first of twin boys, on February 8, 1938, in McNary, Arizona, to Erwin Hans Hansen and Alyce Violet Sanders Hansen. He was the eldest of five boys, and his family home in Lakeside, Arizona, welcomed many young men whom he considered brothers. Theirs was the Arizona cowboy life, working horses and cattle.

He graduated from Lakeside High School, later renamed Blue Ridge High School. The Class of '56 included nine graduates, including two sets of twins. He received a bachelor's degree from Arizona State University and an M.B.A. from Northern Arizona University. In September 1961, he was drafted into the Army and was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He retired in 1997, having served as the
Registrar of Admissions and Records at Northern Arizona University.

While attending ASU, he met Connie Marie Holbert. They eloped and were married on May 29, 1959, by a justice of the peace. Their marriage was later solemnized on June 22, 1968, in the Mesa Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. They made their home in Flagstaff in 1969.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; loved ones Jody Tedder and Carol Kuefer;nephews Hans Hansen, Lonny Hansen, and Jason Hightower; and infant granddaughter Belle Kristine Cox.

He is survived by his eternal companion, Connie, of Flagstaff; brother J. L. "Buck" Hansen (Jeanette) of Mesa; brother David Hansen (MaryAnn) of Lott, Texas; brother Hans Hansen (Karen) of Winnsboro, Texas; brother Don Hansen (Susie) of Pinetop-Lakeside; daughter Carrie McGuire (Chuck) of Spanish Fork, Utah; son Justin Hansen (Heidi) of Flagstaff; son Myron Hansen (Lynlie) of Gilbert; son Logan Hansen (Lisa) of Springville, Utah; daughter Kristine Cox (Ben) of Blackfoot, Idaho; and 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on April 16, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, 625 East Cherry Avenue, Flagstaff, Arizona. Visitation will be from 9:00-9:50 am with services beginning at 10 am. Interment will follow at Citizens Cemetery in Flagstaff, with military honors.
