Obituary

Floyd Edward Pelland (Buddy) of Flagstaff Arizona, formerly International Falls Minnesota, passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side on March 29, 2024, at the age of 85.

Buddy was born in International Falls Minnesota to Elizabeth and Leonard Pelland.  Buddy spent his entire childhood and much of his young adult life in International Falls. It is here where he developed his great love of the outdoors. In May of 1962, he married Kay Lindsay Pelland and they began their life together diligently raising two children, Todd and Sondra.

Buddy was a tireless Entrepreneur, and was always dabbling  in one business or another. Throughout his life it was important for him to embody hard work in order to teach his children strength of character, integrity, and service to family.

Buddy lived each day as it came, and never complained. He loved his Son-in laws barbecued Chicken, his daughter-in laws Kindness, his daughters Wit, his son's Intellect, and his wife's Kind nature. Often expressing his family's attributes to others around him. But what he loved the most was being around his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. Through them he learned the meaning of joy.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents: Leonard Edward Pelland and Elizabeth Schaak; his wife Kay Lindsay Pelland; his brother-in law Frank (Evelyn) Youso; sister in-law Wanda (Ronald) Pelland; sister in-law Sandy (Roy) Willett.

Buddy is survived by his Children;  Todd (Diane) Pelland, Sondra (Dave) Monson; grandchildren: Brad Pelland, Jeremy (Kathryn) Wright, Kelsey Monson, Payton Pelland, Tanner Pelland, and Brooklyn Pelland; great grandchildren: Kaden Connin, Kaylee Monson, Kennedy Monson, Greyson Wright, McKenzie Monson, and Felicity Wright. In addition he is survived by siblings: Evelyn Youso, Ronald Pelland, Larry Willett, Roy Willett, and Bill Schaak

"Say not in grief that he is no more but live in thankfulness that he was"

The  family also expresses sincere thanks to Diane Pelland who provided love, support, and medical care  for Dad in her home. We are eternally grateful.
