Frances R. Garcia, 94, of Flagstaff, Arizona, passed away peacefully. Born on December 3, 1931, in Flagstaff, Frances spent her life deeply rooted in the community she loved.
Together with her husband, Frank Garcia Sr., Frances helped establish La Fonda Restaurant alongside her two sisters and their husbands. Later, she and Frank opened Kachina Downtown Mexican Restaurant, where they continued sharing their passion for great food and warm hospitality with the Flagstaff community.
Frances had a true sense of adventure and found her greatest happiness alongside her husband. She loved camping in Arizona's White Mountains, where she created countless cherished memories with family and friends. Together, she and Frank also shared a love of traveling the world, embracing every opportunity to explore new places and experience life's adventures. Whether camping in the mountains or traveling to a new destination, Frances treasured every moment spent with the love of her life.
Above all, Frances was devoted to her family. Nothing brought her more joy than supporting those she loved. She faithfully spent her Saturdays cheering on her granddaughter at soccer games and eagerly celebrated her oldest granddaughter's accomplishments as a high-level gymnast, always excited to hear about every medal she earned. Her love, encouragement, and pride in her family were constant and unwavering.
Frances will be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering devotion to her family, and the kindness she shared with everyone who knew her. Her legacy will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
She is survived by her children, Socorro Benevidez, Barbara King, Frank Garcia Jr., and Mark Garcia; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 8, at 3:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Norvel Owens Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9, at 10:30 a.m. at San Francisco de Asís Catholic Church. Following the funeral service, family and friends are invited to gather for a reception at The American Legion to celebrate Frances' life and share memories together.
Frances will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
