Frances G. Glaspie
Frances G. Glaspie,97, of Flagstaff and Doney Park-Winona area; died Friday, January 12, 2007 at Padilla's Residential Care in Winslow.
She was born April 20, 1909 at Hope, New Mexico to George and Elizabeth Foster.
The Foster family moved to Flagstaff and Doney Park in 1927, where Frances married Charlie Earl "Shorty" Glaspie and raised her family at Camp Townsend.
An endless pleasure was cooking for family and friends. She was proud of her position as cafeteria worker and cook for the Flagstaff Schools.
Frances was preceded in death by her daughter Elizabeth, and her husband,"Shorty" Glaspie.
She is survived by her sons, Charlie Ray (Martha) Glaspie, Garlin Glaspie,and daughter Ruby (Don) Kelsey; eight grandchildren, many great
grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, and several youngsters in the community, that have adopted her as their grandmother.
Viewing will be at 9:00 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2007 at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 9148. Route 66 in Flagstaff. Funeral services at 10:00 a.m.,followed by graveside services at Flagstaff Citizens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Northland Hospice in Flagstaff P.O. Box 997, Flagstaff, AZ 86002.
