Garnet Esther Sanborn, 82, of Flagstaff passed away March 1, 2010 in Prescott, AZ. She was born December 29, 1927 in Nelsonville, Ohio to Charles and Mae Sommers Hook.
Garnet and her husband William lived in a number of states throughout the country moving with each transfer with GTE/Sylvania. Their last move was from Maine to Flagstaff over 20 years ago. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to being a mother. She was an excellent seamstress, cook, she loved to shop and her and her husband enjoyed the times they spent with their friends.
Garnet was a longtime member of the Christ Church of Flagstaff and served on the Auxiliary of Flagstaff Medical Center in the Thursday Crew. In her younger years she was also a member of the Eastern Stars.
She is survived by her daughters Deborah (Bill) Smith of Flagstaff, Rita (Dale) Holt of Pennsylvania; Sons William Sanborn, of Flagstaff and Steven Sanborn; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and her sister in Ohio.
A memorial service will be Monday, March 8, 2010 at 11 am at the Norvel Owens Mortuary.
