Gary Hilstrom passed away unexpectedly on July 8th, 2010 in Flagstaff, Arizona. Gary was born in East Chicago, IN on May 22, 1947, to Carl and Garnet Hilstrom. He is survived by his wife, Hillary; sons Shane Hilstrom (fiancee, Jennifer Bramwell) and Sky Watson; brother, Richard (Nancy), Joel and Donald; nephews, Ross, Lars & Otto; nieces, Lori Cavenee, Lisa Niimi, & Lana Reinson; sister-in-law, Allison Brooks, mother-in law, Marge Brooks. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jeff. He was a graduate of Tempe High School, loved ASU sports, especially Sun Devil football, and was always proud to call Tempe his hometown where he and Hillary lived. Gary served his country in the U.S. Army, graduated with an AA from MCC, and worked for 40 years in construction - the last 25 as a Sr. Project Manager in healthcare construction for Scottsdale Healthcare and Kitchell Contractors. We will miss his quirky gifts, his love of 50's memorabilia, playing blackjack and the lottery, and his generosity to those he knew and those he didn't. No services are pending and his ashes will be scattered at a later date.
