Obituary

Gene "The Rose Man" Tucker, 63 of Flagstaff passed away December 5, 2008 at Flagstaff Medical Center following multiple health problems. He was born May 17, 1945 to Ida Tucker in Omaha, Nebraska.

He was known to be tenacious and a hard worker. He was kind and had an infectious laugh. Gene loved his dog Toy; together they walked through out the community selling roses and taking pictures downtown and in bars through out Flagstaff. He gave candy to children and treats to dogs, and had a smile for everyone he met.

Gene had been searching for his daughter, but was not successful. His mother lived in Colorado and preceded him in death a few years ago. He was also preceded in death by his four legged companion Toy a short time ago. He is survived by all the friends he met along his path and a community that will miss him greatly. It has been said that he was part of the magic and romance of downtown Flagstaff.

Gene was buried at Citizens Cemetery, A celebration of his life, will be Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m., at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66.
