George Albert Swanson Jr., passed away October 2, 2009. He was born January 20, 1946 in Aurora, IL to George and Dona Swanson.

George was a graduate of East Aurora High School in Aurora, IL. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. He also served the Sunshine Rescue Mission in Flagstaff for 10 years. He shared the love of Jesus as a missionary for over 30 years traveling by RV internationally. He loved helping people from all walks of life.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jennifer, of Parks; son Jonathan (Cristina) Swanson of Parks; daughter Laura (Matthew) Vigil of Denver, CO; grandchildren Jordan and Maiya Swanson of Parks; sister Dona (Harold) White of IL; brothers Chris (Mary Jane) Swanson of OR and John Swanson of CO; and many friends all over the country.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 7 at Flagstaff Christian Fellowship. A visitation will be held for an hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers donations can be send in C/O Laura Vigil, 21407 E. 41st Place, Denver, CO 80249.
