George Edward Tackitt.  1/29/1963 to 11/28/2024

George Tackitt was a fourth generation Flagstaff native, born in Cottonwood, Arizona on January 29, 1963. Even though his family were residents of Flagstaff, his was a complicated birth that needed the advanced medical services of Marcus J. Lawrence Memorial Hospital that Flagstaff could not provide. George was the third child of Edward Millam Tackitt and Helen Joanne Eyrich Tackitt.  George completed his formal schooling at Emerson Elementary, Flagstaff Jr. High School and graduated from Flagstaff High School in 1981. After graduation George did many jobs including Hardware sales at Angels Hardware in Flagstaff and Phoenix, bodyguard for the heavy metal band Armored Saint, carpentry and automotive repair.
George settled into auto repair and became a master Honda mechanic but could diagnose and fix most vehicles. George moved on to operating a tow truck for United Towing and then starting his own tow company, Northern Arizona Towing, LLC in 2002. For the past several years George had been retired.
George is survived by his wife Suzanne and his daughters Catie Blazek (Aaron) of Flagstaff and Kimberley Denune (Mark) of Flagstaff.  George is predeceased by his parents Edward Tackitt and Helen Tackitt.
George had many interests in his life including hunting in his youth, fishing, metal artwork but mostly his love of his motorcycles. Anyone who has met George knew he loved to ride his bike through Oak Creek Canyon and enjoy a cup of coffee at Indian Gardens.
Graveside services will be Friday, December 6th at 2:30 pm in the Tackitt plot in Flagstaff Citizens Cemetery. Gathering to follow at the family home on Birch Ave.
