Obituary

Grace Alexandria (Mier) Boren was born on May 7,1938 in Flagstaff, Arizona, to Victor Vega Mier and Mary Lavin Mier. She left us to be with the Lord on June 1, 2018, at her home in Flagstaff, Arizona, at the age of 80 years. She was the oldest of four children. Grace was truly a loyal native of Flagstaff, Arizona, She attended Emerson Grammar School, Flagstaff Junior High School and Flagstaff High School. When she was ten years old, she began working in the family business, Vic's Produce. She ran the business until her parents retired and sold the business in 1977. She then worked for Paul Weaver at Northland Press and subsequently for Dr. Bill Gaylord until her retirement in 1993.

Grace was the family matriarch and she loved to cook for special occasions. Grace's priorities were self-evident for her family and Catholic faith, where she was very involved with her children and grandchildren completing religious obligations and receiving the holy sacraments. She was also passionate about them achieving their High School and College education. She attended every milestone in their lives with love and devotion.

She was a loving wife, mother and adoring grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ervin L. Boren, son Victor A. Boren (LuEllen) and daughter Valerie A. Gyory (Russell) and five grandchildren Justin C. Boren (Kaitlin), Bryce A. Boren, Kayla L. Boren, Devin R. Gyory and Ashley G. Gyory. She is also survived by a sisters Mary Theresa Caldwell and Patsy West (Steve)

She is preceded in death by her parents (Victor and Mary Mier), sister (Victoria Idiart), and brother (Robert Mier).

Holy Rosary will take place Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 7:00 pm, Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 10:00 am, both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 224 S Kendrick St, Flagstaff, AZ.  Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in her honor to Marine League Charities here in Flagstaff.
