Harold Henry Benware Jr. "Ben"

Harold Henry Benware Jr. 86, entered the kingdom of Heaven on August 8, 2024 suddenly and peacefully with his wife, Nancy at his side. Ben was born in Oak Park, Illinois to Harold Sr. and Evelyn Benware.

After attending Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, Ben engaged his salesmanship skills to build a successful Real Estate development company. Over time Benan and Associates expanded into Tampa, Florida and Scottsdale, Arizona. Ben and Nancy fell in love with Arizona and made the decision to relocate permanently to Scottsdale in the winter and Munds Park in the summer. Munds Park was his happy place, his escape.

Ben, was one of a kind, first class and led a big beautiful life. He was passionate about boats, horses and golf. Boats, he had a few. Many hours were spent cruising the waters of Lake Michigan and the Gulf of Mexico in Tampa and Fort Myers, Florida. Horses, he had a few, from his first "Black Satin" who he kept in his parents backyard to National and Reserve National Champion Arabian and half Arabians, his favorite was "Justice". And golf, he played a few rounds. He loved practicing, playing, watching the game on television, riding in the golf cart and buying new clubs. He was even one shot away from shooting his age this summer. Through it all, the business life, the passions, and the everyday encounters, the most important to him were the people he met and the lasting friendships he felt he was so privileged to enjoy.

Ben is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Sr. and Evelyn Benware, and his sisters Elizabeth Ruckrich and Mary Lea Carr. He is survived by his wife of fifty years Nancy, his daughter Stacy (Don) Schiffner, his son William (Amy) Richardson and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Ben's life will be held on Sunday, September 15th from 2:00 - 4:00p.m. at the Pinewood Country Club in Munds Park as well as in the Valley date and time to be determined.
