Homer K. "Jack" Grant

Homer K. "Jack" Grant was born in Liberal, Kansas on May 6, 1922 to Roy and Tina Grant, descendents to the brother of Ulysis S. Grant. Jack was a 56 year resident of Flagstaff, Arizona and passed away on November 17, 2006 at the age of 84 at Olivia White Hospice Home.

Jack is survived by three children; Sharon Gregory, Kirt Grant, Shelley Brett, and step-daughter, Sheri Renaud; eight grand-children and one brother, Jefferson Grant.

Before moving to Flagstaff, he was stationed in Long Beach, California and later transferred to Henderson, Nevada. After his discharge, he lived with his wife and daughter in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jack was a Black Jack dealer at the El Rancho Grande Hotel and The Frontier on the Las Vegas strip during the days of Bugsy Segal!

Jack and his family moved to Flagstaff at the end of 1949. During his 56 years in Flagstaff, he owned and managed many businesses in and around Flagstaff. Jack built Kachina Square in the early 1970's which he owned and operated for 30 years. He was an active life time member of the Elks.

A public viewing will be on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 from 6 to 8 PM at Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel, 914 E. Route 66, Flagstaff, AZ. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at 2 PM, also at Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow at Citizens Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at the Elks Lodge, 2101 N. San Francisco St.; (928)774-6271. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice.
